Finally a comic where I get to explore my weird lifelong obsession with turning into a little homunculus and exploring someone's brain. “Is This You?” started off as a dream I had about Dempsey where he created the machine that appears in this story. The mechanics were the same; the only difference is that Dempsey opened his skull and jacked the scanner directly into his brain instead of wearing electrodes. The concept of surrendering your consciousness to someone else intrigued me so much that I knew I had to make a comic about it. I rarely have dreams about my characters, which lent it an air of significance.

Thank you to my bestie Pearlnight for bouncing ideas off me and encouraging me to be as gratuitously gross as possible! She's the one who came up with the game show angle. A lot of ITY started off as us shitposting and turned out to be an incredibly fun way for me to explore the darkest parts of the human id. This is the most fun I've had working on a comic in a very, very long time.

I got the idea for the brain expanding into tubes from the cover of "Psychonaut" by Brainticket. Check it out if you're interested in an overlooked classic of psychedelic rock.
